Gallstones & Gallbladder
Consult if you have gallstones, recurrent upper abdominal pain after meals, an abnormal ultrasound, or have been advised you may have gallbladder inflammation.
Surgery is not always necessary for gallstones; your symptoms and imaging determine the best path.
Lumps, Cysts & Soft-Tissue
Consult if you notice a new, growing, or painful lump, such as a lipoma, cyst, soft-tissue mass, or an enlarged lymph node.

You do not need to be certain about surgery before booking a visit. A surgical consultation helps clarify your diagnosis, review test results, and discuss all available options—whether that involves observation, further testing, a minor procedure, or a necessary operation.
When Should You See a Surgeon?
Hernia / Luslos
Consult if you notice a new or enlarging bulge in the groin, navel, or abdominal wall, especially if it causes discomfort when lifting, coughing, or straining.
Wounds That Are Not Healing
Consult for diabetic foot wounds, pressure sores, post-op wounds, or any "sugat na hindi gumagaling" as expected.
Warning signs include persistent redness, swelling, drainage, foul odor, worsening pain, or delayed healing.
Breast Changes
Consult if you find a new breast lump or change, or if a recent ultrasound or mammogram shows an abnormality that requires further professional review.
While many breast lumps are benign, any new changes should be assessed by a specialist.
Hemorrhoids & Anal Concerns
Consult for persistent rectal bleeding, anal pain, lumps, swelling, or discharge—symptoms often associated with hemorrhoids, fissures, fistulas, or perianal abscesses.
Rectal bleeding should always be evaluated rather than assuming it is hemorrhoids.
Abdominal & Gastrointestinal
Consult for recurrent abdominal pain, suspected appendicitis, signs of bowel obstruction, or abnormal scan results from an ultrasound, CT, or endoscopy.
Thyroid, Neck & Other Findings
Consult if you notice a thyroid or neck lump, an enlarged lymph node, or have received abnormal imaging or biopsy results that require surgical assessment.
This includes referrals for a surgical opinion or to clarify if an operation is recommended for your specific condition.
Symptoms Requiring Urgent Care
Seek immediate medical attention if you experience severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, fever with abdominal symptoms, jaundice, a suddenly painful or trapped hernia, marked abdominal swelling, uncontrolled bleeding, or a wound with rapidly spreading redness and systemic illness.
If you suspect a life-threatening emergency, please go to the nearest hospital ER.
Training & Experience
Dr. Delgado’s background in General Surgery includes broad operative experience across hepatobiliary, breast, thyroid, gastrointestinal, colorectal, and emergency surgery, with additional training in laparoscopy, biliary surgery, and gastrointestinal endoscopy.
Residency Training
He completed his General Surgery residency at the Philippine General Hospital (PGH), a high-volume national referral center, where he trained in both elective and emergency surgical care across a wide range of conditions.
Advanced Laparoscopy
He has developed significant expertise in laparoscopic surgery, providing patients with minimally invasive options for gallbladder and abdominal conditions for faster recovery.
International Training
His credentials include an Advanced Biliary Surgery Course at IRCAD Taiwan and clinical endoscopy training at the NTT Medical Center in Tokyo, focusing on magnifying endoscopy.
